Infectious Diseases
The immunology and infectious diseases department is part of internal medicine field and studies viruses, mycetes, germs and parasites. The department performs research, diagnosis and treatment of general infection diseases like pneumonia, tuberculosis, encephalomeningitis, nephropyelitis, cystitis and intra-abdominal infections(various abcesses) and official epidemic and overseas infections like malaria, bacillary dysentery, typhoid and cholera. The department is placing its priorities of treatment to patients with immune system deficiency (chronic leukemia, panmyelophthisis, lymphoma, transplantation of hematopoietic stem cell, various auto-immune diseases and cancer patients).
