Notice for medical examination
Reservation of medical examination
· If you have particular diseases or taking medications (Aspirin, Astrix, coumadin, etc.), please let us before the examination.
· For clients who want to get a detailed · selective Program, they need to make a reservation in advance and pay extra examination fee.
· For clients who want to undergo conscious sedation endoscopy, they need a reservation for it and a companion on the day of medical examination.
· A reservation for cardiac CT is made by only visiting.
Preparations before the day of medical examination
Preparation
· Please complete medical questionnaires.
· Put and take feces in the feces container. (Since it is hard to take a feces sample after taking the medication for colonoscopy, take stool before taking the medication.)
Fast
· Please avoid heavy drinking, fatty food, meats and Chinese medicine for 3 days before the day of medical examination.
· Take a light dinner before 7:00 pm on the day before medical examination and fast from 9:00 pm. (Avoid water, gum, coffee and tobacco)
· For clients who reserved colonoscopy, observe the preparations by reference to ‘Information for Colonoscopy’.
Other information for female clients
· Pregnant clients should check pregnancy before taking examinations.
· For female clients who are during a menstrual period, 5 days after menstruation starts is desirable.
· For breast-feeding female clients or those who had mammography
Preparations on the day of medical examination
Fast
· Do NOT eat any food and don’t drink fluid.
· You are allowed to wash your face, brush your teeth and wear make up.
Medication
· Those who take hypertension medicines or anticonvulsant should take them with at least a small amount of water around 6:00 am.
- If a client has high blood pressure on the day of medical examination, we can’t the perform endoscopy on the client.
- Those who want to take upper GI series, please do not take hypertension medicines, and just bring them.
· Please do not take other medications on the day of medical examination.
- Those who take diabetic medicines and insulin by injection are not allowed to take the medications in the morning, and please bring them.
Methods for medical examination of stomach
· Please choose either Upper GI series, or Gastroscopy.
· Upper GI series : It also upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract radiography, is a radiologic examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract. It consists of a series of X-ray images of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. As a result of the examination, another endoscopy can be required.
· Gastroscopy : It is an examination of the inside of the gullet, stomach and duodenum. It is performed by using a thin, flexible fibre-optic instrument. If lesions are noticed, we perform a biopsy by taking a part of tissues. (But, there is an extra charge for biopsy and culture. We do not perform polypus removal.)
Precautions before taking gastroscopy
· If you take aspirin or anti-coagulant, consult with the physician on whether or not to take it at least a week before. Those who take diabetic therapies should take a small amount of water at 6:00 am. If a client has high blood pressure on the day of examination, we cannot perform the gastroscopy.
· For clients who want to undergo conscious sedation gastroscopy or colonoscopy, they need a reservation for it and a companion on the day of medical examination. There is an extra charge for biopsy and culture.
Other information
· Please visit the health promotion center on the 13th floor in Building 5 between 8:10 and 9:30 am and keep the reserved time. (Time for taking physical check-up : average 3 hours)
· Please bring medical questionnaires sheet and feces container on the day of mekdical examination.
· Restrain from carrying articles of value and being accompanied by children and guardian.
Comprehensive program
A comprehensive medical examination program geared for early diagnosis and prevention of adult diseases and cancer in major organs and systems.
Result guidance
Consultation for examination result is available 7~10 days after the examination.
· Visiting consultation: You can get the results directly when you visit our hospital and consult with your doctor in person.
· Telephone consultation: If you are not able to visit hospital, you can receive the results by post after consulting with your doctor over the telephone.
· Post consultation: If you are not able to visit our hospital and get telephone consultation, you can receive the results by post.
· Please contact to Health Promotion Center(051-990-5050~5054) whenever you want to consult again and ask about your results.
